The Faculty Excellence Exchange

A global effort to close the gap between what students are taught and what the field expects. That gap closes in classrooms, course by course, led by faculty who know where the field is heading.

Apply to the Exchange

For faculty teaching in data science and AI. Entry is by institutional nomination, or by direct application endorsed by your institution.

Put a colleague forward. If the nomination is approved they receive an invitation to apply, and a nomination commits them to nothing.

Fellows’ dashboard Sign in with the address you registered with, for your sessions, Implementation Notes and Fellowship progress. Verify a Fellowship Check a credential number against the Register of Fellows. No sign-in needed.

How entry works

1Apply

By nomination, or directly with your institution’s endorsement.

2Review

A joint academic and industry panel reviews your application.

3Set up

On approval, an email invites you to set up your account.

4Begin

You enter the dashboard as a Fellow in progress.

Applying does not create an account. Both forms record an application for the panel to read, and nothing is set up until it has been reviewed. Whichever way you enter, you will hear from us by email.

What the Fellowship is

The FWDSAI Fellowship badge

FWDSAI is conferred on the basis of sustained engagement and documented implementation in your own teaching, assessed by a joint academic and industry panel against the Faculty Practice Standards. It is a Fellowship designation, not a skills certification or examined credential.

Fellows attend one session in each core area of the cycle and submit an Implementation Note after each, recording what they changed in their own courses and what happened when they did. On conferral a Fellow receives the tri-signed conferral document and the FWDSAI badge, and is entered in the Register of Fellows, where the credential can be checked by anyone holding the number.
